Teachers Guide

This WebQuest has been designed for year two students. The aim of the webQuest is to encourage the students to look at their environment to see how 3D shapes are used in construction.

The task asks the students to form teams of four with each student taking on a different real life role. They are asked to draw and build a model of a playground using as many 2D and 3D shapes as possible. Six steps take them through the process where they are given activities and shown visual representations of shapes, playgrounds and other resources that will help them with their task.

The students can follow their own criteria sheet, and can print out a certificate of achievement at the end of the task.
