Here is a set of different sorts of questions that will assist you as you work on your Area of Study. If you work through each activity (pick one from each box) you'll be well on your way to being able to critically evaluate texts that deal with your concept of Journey. The questions work on a taxonomy developed by an academic called Bloom hence the taxonomy is called 'Bloom's taxonomy'.

Make a facts chart or a mindmap of the incidents that mark the steps in the imaginative journey.

Design a questionnaire to gather information about suitable texts to supplement your study of Imaginative Journey.

Conduct an investigation to produce information to support the view that without imagination human beings are just like animals.
Make a flow chart to show the critical stages in Oscar's journey.
Write a biography of Oscar.

Prepare a list of criteria to judge the success of The Violin Man.
Conduct a debate about an issue that is raised in the novel e.g. communing with those we've lost and loved.
Make a booklet about 5 rules you see as important when studying for Imaginative Journeys for your HSC. Convince others.
Form a panel to discuss views, eg "Learning at School is enhanced by studying the concept Area of Study - Journeys"
Write a letter to The Board of Studys advising on changes needed in the HSC English course. Use your experience as a case study.
