Make your own garden

Making your own garden is easy and fun to do.

Stuff you will need:
1. A patch of soil
2. A spade, fork, watering can
3. Seeds

What to do:

1. Ask your parents if you can have a small section of the backyard to design your own mini-garden or join the local Community Gardens

Community Gardens

2. Decide whether you want to grow vegetables or flowers.
If you are going to grow vegetables, go and have a look at Guide to Growing Great Vegetables

3. If you have any compost, did this into your patch.

4. Read the instructions on the back of the packet of seeds and plant them.

5. It is always a good idea to mark the spot where you have planted and what you have planted.

6. Water the ground gently making sure not to overwater.

7. Water on a regular basis.

If you're tight for space, you may want to design your very own indoor garden with bonzai plants or grow vegetables in pots.
