WebQuest: Japanese Internment

"Part 2"

Back to part 1
Some people have said that the internment of Japanese Americans during WWII bares a striking resemblance to the concentration camps in Germany during the same war. While both cases certainly have similarities, there are irrefutable differences also. What were these differences? What were the similarities? Only a careful examination of both situations will help uncover these similarities and differences.

    -The Task

  1. Uncover the reasons concentration camps were established in Germany during WWII.
  2. Discover who was forced into these concentration camps.
  3. Compare and contrast the internment of Japanese Americans versus the camps that were prevalent in Germany during WWII. Be sure to note things such as living conditions, treatment of the residents, and the reasoning behind both situations.
  4. Present your discoveries to the rest of the class.
