Communication
I can talk to
the clients at work really well. I hear all the gossip.
That's not the only thing though - you really need to talk
to people so you can help them and they can help you.
Negotiation
When a
client is unhappy about something my Mum can talk them
around really well. That’s negotiation. I’m learning from
Mum.
Numerical
I can handle
the cash register and work out what the cost of various
treatments is. I use the calculator all the time so I don’t
make a mistake.
Technological
I don’t
really need to use any technology. But you can use great
computer imaging so clients can see what they would look
like with a particular colour or style. That would be cool
to use in the salon.
Social
My girlfriends
sometimes come round to our place to swim in the pool. It
doesn’t happen often because I have to work most Saturdays.
Physical
I don’t do
too much exercise because I work in most of my free time.
Standing on your feet for all that time kills.
Creative
I am creative
with hairstyling
Leadership
Not really
an issue yet. Mum sometimes leaves me in charge if she has
to leave the Salon. You can’t let just anyone run things and
one day I will be the boss.
Practical
I can do most
of the stuff in the Salon. I’m not good at things like
gardening or cars or anything- that’s what guys are for.
Home duties
I help Mum
at home. Dad doesn’t do anything in the house- it’s not a
guy’s job.
