Team 5: Personal Profile - Adam

Swim and keep fit by working out in the gym.

A bit of a loner.

I don’t really have a friendship group. The kids I was in Primary school with think I’m a Computer Geek and the High School kids think I’m a midget.

I keep out of things pretty much. I hang out in the Computer Lab or the Library.

I am pretty taken up with my study, so I don’t do much community work- if any.

Same as for Community service.

Money? Money is cool. I want to have a lot of it one day.
Possessions? I’d like to own a really nice car.
Religion? I’m not religious, nor are my parents.
Marriage? Yeah- sure!!!
Politics? Politics is important. The really weird thing is that I will be in final year of Uni or maybe even working before I am eligible to vote.

I’m really conscious of being decent to people who are different. I had only just turned 10 when I came to High School so I felt really out of it.

In an ideal world what would be your 5 year plan?
To be finished University and be working in a company or government department in the IT area.

What things are standing in the way of achieving this?
I’m only 14 now. I will probably still be only 19 when I finish my University degree. Most of my friends will just be starting Uni when I finish.

What might be some of the solutions?
I could go back to Year 9. I’d be really bored because I could do that work when I was in Year 6.

How will you support yourself if you decide on further training after school?
I will be 15 when I finish Year 12 so I will have to stay at home. I will apply for HECS and get a part time job to help Mum and Dad out.

Mum and Dad are pretty hardworking people. They can’t work out where I came from. My older brother in Year 12 gives me a hard time when I have to go to the Senior assemblies. He’s 4 years older than me, but one year ahead at school.

What is important as far as values go?
Being a good and decent person is the most important thing as far as values go.
