Team 3: Personal
Profile - Joe

Very fit and active, I look after my
body

Sporty, loud, good sense of humour and a people person

My friendship group is really big. There’s a heap of us and we
always have each other’s backs. We always know where the latest
parties are and make sure that we go to all the good ones.

I was in the fashion parade for the last two years running.
I also represented the school in futsal and soccer.

We don’t get too involved in community stuff, unless it’s sport. Dad
is on the Committee of the local Soccer Club where my brother and I
play.

I play Soccer most weekends.

Money?
|
Great- I love it. Dad says you should always have plenty of
cash in your pocket. I don’t go without anything because Dad
wants us to have the things he didn’t have as a kid. |
|
Possessions?
|
I have my own TV and a Playstation. Dad’s getting me my own
car when I finish Year 12. It’s cool to have nice things. I
always wear the best brand clothes. |
|
Religion?
|
We are Catholic and we go to Mass every Sunday. Dad would
kill me if I said I didn’t want to go. |
|
Marriage?
|
I will get married one day. You’ve got to carry on the
family name. I would like to have a couple of sons. |
|
Politics?
|
Only the brainy, nerdy kids are into politics. I’m not
interested. I don’t need to be. Besides, it’s not cool. |
I treat people pretty good. I’ve been taught to respect my elders.

In an ideal world what would be your 5 year plan?
Finish school, get an Apprenticeship, finish that and be working for
myself. I’d like to have a really sick car.
What things are standing in the way of achieving this?
Maybe doing TAFE might be hard. I hate school so I don’t do real
well. It might be hard to get an Apprenticeship. But Dad’s got some
mates in the trade who might take me on
What might be some of the solutions?
Work harder. Do some Work Experience to get to show what a good
worker I would be.
How will you support yourself if you decide on further training
after school?
I’m going to stay at home. Mum does everything for me so why would I
want to leave. Dad said if I get my Year 12 he will buy me a car for
my 18th.

Mum and Dad work hard to give us the best. Dad came from Italy when
he was 15 and he wants us to have the things he didn’t have. Mum
works part time so she can have the house looking great and so she
can take us where we have to go. We are a close family and have a
good time together.
What is important as far as values go?
Be good to other people, look after your own and respect your
parents because they live to make you happy.
