Team 1: Personal Profile - Louise

I am pretty much just a plain Jane. Or that’s what I think.

The only thing that I like about myself really is my figure…apart from my boobs because to tell you the truth I really don’t have them.

I always wanted to have gorgeous long blonde or red hair, not the boring mousey brown colour that I have now. But mum won’t let me dye it.

I also have to wear reading glasses which I think would look funky on someone else but me.

I am pretty tall and slim.

Three years ago I had my appendix removed so I have a scar… is that important?

Easy-going, fun loving, extroverted, loud and ambitious.

In my close friendship group there is only the 5 of us. We are all pretty different girls.

Meg is into horse riding and I think that she’d just love to own and run her own horse stud.

Sarah and Danielle both plan on going to Uni when they finish school, I’m not sure what they want to do, I don’t think they do either.

Last but not least is the princess of our group, Mish. I think Mish is planning on going to TAFE to do beauty therapy.

All of us girls see each other whenever we can. Dani is in my jazz class, so we see each other twice a week and every second weekend I go out to Meg’s place to play tennis and have a swim in her pool. She has got the nicest house. Dani just moved here recently from Broome in Western Australia so that was a bit of a culture shock for her, and the other 3 girls have lived here their whole lives, as have I.

Over the last 5 years I have been in every school musical/play. It keeps me pretty busy.

Sometimes I volunteer to work in the canteen: provided one of my girlfriends comes in with me.

Last year I played in the year 10 softball team… I had never played before in my life but it was good fun.

This year I have decided that I will go in every event in the athletics carnival even though I can’t jump or throw and I am not all that fast, but hey I might come out with a tan.

I haven’t really done much community service. I did join a junior drama club and we have performed about 10 plays over the past 3 years. I suppose that could be considered community service.

I am as mentioned a part of a junior drama club and I am also dancing at the moment. I am part of Rapid movements which is jazz and I do tap as well.

Money? Money is just something that can get me the things that I want, I don’t really see why my parents make such a big deal about having it and not having it… money comes and goes.
Possessions? Are good to have but don’t determine who you are as a person!
Religion? Although we are Anglican, we don’t really go to Church all that often. In fact I think the only time I’ve gone is for Christmas in the last year. Religion isn’t a huge issue in my life, but I respect those who do hold it as a high priority.
Marriage? I love the idea of marriage. I can’t wait to one day have my wedding. I want the works, I love dressing up… it’s just like putting on a big show for your friends and family to celebrate such a special day. I want to marry a spunk.
Politics? Umm I don’t really know enough about it to really care. I figure that the older people can do the serious voting.

I am not the type of person to ever look down on people, because I know what it’s like to have that done to you. I consider that everyone should get the same opportunities no matter what their background. I think that I am a very nice and friendly person to everyone.

In an ideal world what would be your 5 year plan?
To get a job at a hotel and work my way up the ranks so that I might eventually be the manager. It would be nice also if I had by this stage meet the guy I could picture myself marrying and have a deposit for a house.

What things are standing in the way of achieving this?

The fact that it is difficult to get into any kind of management without qualifications and I hate the thought of full-time study.

What might be some of the solutions?

Perhaps doing a traineeship of some kind, either in tourism or business management so that I can work full-time as well as doing some study.

How will you support yourself if you decide on further training after school?

Well I don’t think Mum and Dad want me to move out of home any time soon, so while I might only be earning award wage I think that I will be fine financially.

Mum and Dad have raised me in a way which encourages me to be the best I can be. Neither of them completed higher education and want me to be as successful as I can be.

Both believe the way to not struggle in life is to get an education and then you’ll earn more money.

We are very close and considering the fact that they don’t earn much, I am still fairly spoilt.

What is important as far as values go?
I think that people just have to stay true to themselves, and not worry about what other people think. As long as they aren’t hurting anyone I say “go for your life”. I know that I rarely listen to what other people say because I set my own trends.
